Drums and Percussion Lessons - Drumming workshops

Percussion and drumming classes are offered at our Elsternwick studio. Percussion Tuition and drumming workshops are available for children and adults. Fully qualified and experience singing teachers. Older students and adults learn in a private percussion session with their experienced and qualified teacher.

Methods that suit your needs

At Music Works Magic, children and adults have the opportunity to learn to sing with a qualified and experienced vocal coach. Our Director is happy to discuss the different approaches to help you to decide the best approach for you or your child. Exam preparation available but optional. All students are encouraged to perform at our concerts but again this is not compulsory. We encourage students to attend concerts to learn from and support each other. Music Works Magic runs an end of term concert each term. Watch the home page for details of our upcoming concerts. The next concert will be on Sunday 26th June at 9.00-10.00am at the school hall at Sholem Aleichem college, 11 Sinclair St. Elsternwick.

Our Percussion Teachers

Music lessons can be orgainsed with our highly qualified and experienced music teachers on the following musical instruments at our Music School in Elsternwick:


Kaylie Melville, B.Mus Perf. (Hons) completed a Bachelor of Music with first class honours in percussion performance at the University of Western Australia in 2010. As a a percussionist and drummer, Kaylie was a founding member of the Quadraphonic Percussion quartet, a casual player with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and an active member of the Perth musical theatre scene. In November 2010, Kaylie travelled to Indianapolis to perform David Pye’s “Rebana Loops” quartet at the Percussive Arts Society’s International Convention (PASIC). Since relocating to Melbourne in early 2011 Kaylie has performed with the Australian Youth Orchestra and the Sydney Sinfonia, as well as being selected as one of Speak Percussion's Emerging Artists. In addition to this extensive performance experience Kaylie has taught in schools and privately since 2004, working with students of all ages as a music tutor and ensemble director. Back to top
